Blondie occurs as rock band that first gained fame in the 1970s and early 1980s.
It 1st formed around August 1974 when guitarist Chris Stein met Deborah 'Debbie' Harry from little known band, The Wind In The Willows, and formed the band with the remnants of his band, The Stillettos. It were joined by drummer Clem Burke, keyboard player Jimmy Destri and bass player Gary Valentine. It so became regulars at New York's Club 51 and CBGB's. It had their number one record treat sustaining Private Stock Records in the mid 70's, & discharged their debut album Blondie in 1976, along with a lone "X-Offender". Personal Index Records was so bought out by U.K depending company Chrysalis Records. A album was re-freed inside 1977; by this time Valentine got been replaced by Nigel Harrison, and an additional guitar player Frank Infante was added. A individual "Rip Her To Shreds" was released at this period.
